Mobility Training
Mobility
Human Maintenance is all about mobility. Mobility is the ability to move freely and easily. To have quality mobility we must have healthy joints with functional capacity. Based on my life experience, this is the actual goal of physical training. Mobility is required to enjoy this human experience and to perform better at anything you choose to do.
Using the FRC principles and personalized training, I want to help you to reduce aches and pain, improve joint mobility, and build a durable body. I can help you learn to build healthy tissue and maintain your human body. This training has helped me improve my joint health and understand how to be healthy. I know we can help you do the same.
FRC was developed by Dr. Andreo Spina and focuses on mobility using scientific approach and research. Please read more about this great system at Functional Range Conditioning.
Durability
Once the foundation of mobility is improved, we can move into specific effort to target the durability of your body.
Durability is the ability to withstand wear, pressure, or damage. We will train with durability as a goal to improve the health of your human tissue. You will grow stability, increase strength, improve motor control, better balance, and self-awareness of your internal tissues. We will get you ready to chase any goal you may have (hiking, biking, skiing, etc.). Using stability and tempo focused training, we will train to improve human durability.
Adding body tempering and mobile sauna contrast therapy to durability training the next level.
Certifications
Certifications and life experience has prepared me to focus on mobility and durability training. I will use all my tools to get you to your goals.
Certified FRC Mobility Specialist from Function Range Conditioning. Additional information at FRC.
Certified Personal Trainer from National Academy of Sports Medicine Optimum Performance Training.
Certified Body Tempering from Compound PR and Donnie Thompson Body Tempering.
Stretching and Flexibility Coach from NASM.
Body Tempering
Body tempering is a form of soft tissue mobilization developed by Donnie Thompson. Body tempering is performed by placing heavy steel weighted cylinders across muscles, tendons, ligaments and fascia. This helps prepare the muscle for activity and improves muscle recovery post training. Static body tempering done with weighted cylinders sitting on muscles for a period of time. Dynamic body tempering is more like foam rolling but opposite, we roll the steel cylinder on you. This tool helps prepare you for focused mobility training and will just plain feel amazing.
Assisted Stretch
Assisted stretching is used to improve, correct, and maintain flexibility, prepare for deeper mobility efforts, and overall fitness. We can add this training tool to move into your furthest passive ranges and create stimulus to deep joint tissues. We then follow up with active efforts to truly improve mobility. Stretching just feels nice too.
